It is an exposed brick wall that act as the visual link between the open living area kitchen and the lovely courtyard just outside. With the stairway clearly delineating the second level into the living area on one side and the kitchen and dining on the other the need for additional internal partitions has been completely done away with.
Concrete is the material off choice on the inside with the three inimitable curved ceiling structures in raw concrete standing in contrast to the polished concrete floor. The repetitive concrete ‘vaults’ capture the Northern sunlight beautifully and fill the interior with bright daylight.
The condo is just a stone’s throw away from the Stanley Park and a few blocks away from the hip English Bay beach and with one bedroom and one bathroom it is indeed a perfect place for an urban couple.

Existing building constraints meant that the street façade of the house was left completely untouched while a modern living area kitchen and dining were added to the rear. Connecting the rear garden smaller inner courtyard and barbecue zone with the living space the revitalized interior is filled with a flood of natural light.
